#W4W2019 - April 7, 2019

Here is everything you need to know about Whales for Wishes 2019!

Event is from 12 to 4

The event runs from noon to 4:00 PM in Resident Culture's Barrel Room in Plaza Midwood.

Don't print tickets

Just show up to the check-in table and give them your name. You should also bring your ID.

Food will be available

The Famous Toastery has donated sandwiches and wraps, but you should still eat beforehand (trust us).

How does a bottle share work?

Check out our bottle share etiquette guide!

A bottle share is a gathering of individuals where each person brings beer to open and share with other attendees. If this is your first time attending, we recommend you read our bottle share etiquette guide.

Event Day Information

This information should address most questions you may have! Contact us if it doesn't.

Do I need to print my tickets?

Nope! We’ll have a list of names at the check-in table. Just bring an ID and we’ll cross your name off the list when you enter. If you purchase multiple tickets, you can tell us who to let in on your behalf.

Can I get tickets the day of the event?

We’ll sell tickets for $35 at the door until we hit capacity. Due to this restraint we can’t guarantee tickets will be available the day of the event.

Will food be provided?

Yes. There will be some food available for those attending the event. However, we do recommend you start with a good base before this event kicks off. Trust us. There will also be a food truck on site!

Is there parking?

Yes but parking is extremely limited at the brewery, and we strongly encourage you to Uber, Lyft, Taxi, walk, run, or teleport. Seriously even if you think you wont be drinking a lot, you’ll probably end up consuming more than you anticipated (it is a bottle share, after all).

Where does the money go?

All proceeds go to Make-A-Wish® Central and Western NC, which helps grant wishes to children in our community. If you want to learn more about the organization, you can visit their website here

Can I enter the raffle if I can’t attend the event?

Absolutely! Some of our rare beer baskets are open to online entries. We announce those a few weeks before the event, and draw the winner the day of the event.

Will you ship me the beer if I win the rare beer raffle?

You bet! If you enter the rare beer raffle baskets online and can’t attend the event, and we choose your number as the winner one of those baskets, we’ll ship you your beer for free.

What is a “whale”?

A “whale” is a beer an individual has been looking to find and try for a long time (usually hard to find and highly rated). It pays homage to Captain Ahab’s quest to hunt down the great white whale, Moby Dick.

What if I don’t like beer?

That’s no problem! There will be a variety of non-alcoholic as well as wine available to purchase. However it’s rare that even those who don’t drink beer don’t find something they enjoy at the share.

How does the raffle work?

You can purchase as many raffle tickets as you want at the event check in table and enter them into whichever baskets as you want. The more tickets you buy, the cheaper they are per ticket.

Most baskets contain rare and hard to find beer, whereas others have tech gadgets, wine, gift cards to local restaurants, and more! All baskets except for two (we'll tell you which ones) are available to event attendees only!

Winners will for the baskets will be drawn throughout the afternoon.

How does the auction work?

This year we have a bunch of awesome items we're auctioning off! Bidding is now open and will close at 3:45 PM on April 7 (during the event). You can enter online via our secure bidding site right from your phone! If you're outbid, we'll send you a notification!

We're auctioning off a variety of items, from a bottle of the infamous Isabelle Proximus to VIP concert ticket packages to a wine tasting glass for up to 20 people! View and bid on the auction items using the link below.
